Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Ratings and Reviews

The Amazon Fire TV Stick is a small tiny stick that you can easily plug into the HDMI port at the back of your TV. It is a video Streaming gadget that is designed by Amazon. While the Fire TV Stick continues to be a capable streaming device, it can only stream up to 1080p resolution, at a time when you can find 4K content on Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and YouTube.

Amazon Fire TV is in direct competition with existing set-top boxes like Apple TV and Roku. The products are similar in many ways. All three allow you to access free and subscription streaming video services like Netflix, Hulu Plus, Watch ESPN, YouTube, Crackle and Showtime Anytime on your TV.

What is Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K?

The Fire TV Stick 4K is a rectangular black plastic device that plugs into your TV’s HDMI port. It’s wider and longer than the Fire TV Stick and replaces the Amazon branding with just the arrow logo.

With so many different streaming services and devices available, it’s difficult to keep track of them all. Amazon Fire TV Stick, Chromecast, Sling TV box, and Roku are the ones that stand out.

When we buy an Amazon Fire TV, it is only loaded with Amazon prime services, which means we can only watch prime movies and prime web series on it. But if we want to watch Netflix, YouTube, or any other media streaming service, we need to install these apps for the amazon fire stick.

Similar to Fire TV and Chromecast Ultra, in order to maintain a solid connection and enough power for 4k streaming you have an extension cable that you have to connect to power supply.

A streaming device with Alexa built-in, Ultra HD, Dolby Vision & Alexa Voice Remote

This upgraded dongle is noticeably longer than the previous Fire TV Stick, but with multi-HDR support – it handles HDR10 and its dynamic variant HDR10+, it’s also Dolby Vision compatible, Alexa voice control and dual-band, dual-antenna MIMO Wi-Fi reception.

How to set up the Roku Streaming Stick+

Important: The Fire TV Stick 4K won’t work with just any 4K TV – your TV needs to have support for HDCP 2.2.

First, make sure your TV has an HDMI port. Unpack the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K and follow the steps. You can also watch the video below from Roku explaining the procedure.

  1. Plug the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K into your TV’s HDMI port on the back or side of your TV.
  2. Note the HDMI port’s number, because if your TV has more then one HDMI ports you will have to select it. If you plan to stream movies and TV shows in 4K UHD or HDR, remember to select an HDMI 2.0 port that supports HDCP 2.2.
  3. Plugin the Amazon device’s power cord to a power source.
  4. Now use your TV remote and turn on your TV, then press the Source (depends on your TV it could be Input, or Video instead) button on the remote and select the HDMI port into which the Amazon Stick is plugged in.
  5. Follow the screen to set your Amazon stick to your Wi-Fi network and finish the installation.

Tip:  If your remote doesn’t pair, press and hold the Home Button for up to 10 sections to send it to “discovery mode” so you can complete the pairing process.

Switch to the Amazon Stick’s input.

The Fire TV Stick 4K’s remote is one of its best features. Apart from Bluetooth, the new remote also features infrared, so you can control your TV with it. The new power, volume and mute buttons can not only be used to control your TV

Recently Amazon has been working hard to push Amazon Channels subscriptions because Amazon gets a small credit for each subscription made through Amazon Channels.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K now includes a Youtube TV subscription.

A great overview of Lewis T. If you like the video don’t forget to subscribe to his channel.

Of course if your TV doesn’t support 4K you may not see all the benefits of using it. 4K TVs are really affordable and the price is down to $500 average for a good 4K TV.
